DIY Natural Acne Scar Serum

Essential oils are rich with skin healing properties, but with so many to choose from where does one begin? For acne scars, choose oils that have skin cell regenerative properties. For acne-prone skin types, be sure to include oils with antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial properties. Customize your recipe further by finding carrier oils that suit your skin type. Find the best carrier oils for your skin here. The right blend of essential oils and carrier oils can stimulate skin cell regeneration, deliver essential fatty acids, fade discolorations and reduce the overall appearance of acne scars. Here is one of my recipes I've found to be helpful for my post acne scarring.

DIY Natural Acne Scar Serum

  • 1 Ounce Amber Glass Dropper Bottle
  • Grapeseed Oil
  • Rosehip Seed Oil
  • 4 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
  • 4 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 4 drops Rosewood Essential Oil
  1. Create a 50/50 blend of Grapeseed oil and Rosehip Seed oil.
  2. Add essential oils.
  3. Allow to set for 24 hours.
  4. Keep refrigerate to preserve freshness.
  5. Stays fresh up to 1 year, if stored properly.

How To Use

After cleansing and toning, I add a small amount of the serum to a cotton pad and apply all over my face. Not only is this serum effective at reducing acne scars but it's also beneficial for overall healthier more even skin tone. Some weeks I'll use it every morning and night, other times I'll alternate with another oil blend.

  2. THANK YOU!! Since your first video about your natural skin care journey, I have tried jojoba or grapeseed with tea tree/lavender and my skin has improved a lot acne-wise. Love your videos about natural skin care, pls keep them coming!! :)
Question: I use "Aura Cacia Rosehip Oil from chile" and it's yellow. I noticed the one you are using for this serum is "Rose Hip seed oil" and yours is white.... Is there any difference? Thanks for your answer!

  3. Would rose hip oil work for scars by itself? Or is the essential oils "super charging" it?

    Thanks!!

  5. I have the same skin as you which is oily, acne prone and acne scars. My question is what if I switch out the carrier oils in your recipe to jojoba oil and tamanu oil?
