Summer Essentials Spotlight: Crochet Swimsuit Cover UpWednesday, June 03, 2015
June kicks off our Summer Essentials Spotlight Series! Every week I'll feature a favorite Summer essential that inspires that endless summer feeling.
This Summer Essentials Spotlight is on Crochet Swimwear Cover Ups.
I'm a sucker for anything crochet or fringe, they have a free-spirit 1970s vibe that just feels good.
I found this crochet swimwear cover up at Ross for $16.99, it's by the brand Blue Island. If you don't have a Ross near you, or other discount clothing stores such as TJ Maxx or Marshalls, try online. There are some really gorgeous and affordable cover ups on Amazon here (amazon affiliate link). I have my eye on one in another style that looks very similar to a Victoria's Secret cover up I saw awhile back.
I loved that it's a poncho style cover up. The silhouette is simple, the sides are sewn straight down the length of the garment, the sleeves left wide, slits on both sides up to the hip and fringe trim along the sides and bottom.
The detail of crochet is always lovely. On this piece, it looks like a hundred little suns, all in different shapes and designs.
For reference, this is size L/XL. I buy most of my tops in large because I like them to fit comfortably, loose and carefree.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
