map art of cities
Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog, we have a lot of catching up to do!

Today marks our one-month anniversary in our new desert home since moving from Hawaii to Tucson, Arizona. Now that things are finally beginning to settle down from the move, I've embarked on a quest to search out unique ultra modern decor pieces and art for the 1950s home we're renting.

One piece I recently acquired is this modern map art featuring the city of Tucson. Jennifer, the owner/designer of modernmapart.com was kind enough to send us this print after we moved here, such a stunning housewarming gift. The black and white abstract was immediately eye-catching. The map art is designed and printed on museum quality matte paper using Ultrachrome ink which is made to last over 100 years! It's fun to browse their website just to see how all the different cities look from above. You can find your city and checkout their prints here at Modern Map Art.

Modern Map Art review

I paired the map art with a simple white Ribba frame from IKEA. The map art prints come in a variety of sizes, this is the 24x36" size. The back of the Ribba frame is exposed particle board and I'd planned to use 3M Command Strips to hang the map art, unfortunately that combination doesn't work well together.

I had to keep it renter-friendly because... well, we ARE renting and I can't poke any holes in the walls. So I used hot glue to attach the command strips to the back of the frame, I let that dry and proceeded as usual hanging my map art with the Command Strips, it worked perfectly. I'm really happy with how it looks in the dining room. I love finding unique decor that helps you create a more personalized space. What do you guys think?

Can I also mention, Modern Map Art now also has pillows!! Pillows are my weakness. I mean pillows are like the adult version of stuffed animals. You can never have too many if you ask me. If you ask my husband, well... I'm sure he'll disagree, so... let's not ask him.

One more thing I was just thinking, who says you have to get your home city? Exactly, no one. I think any special city that inspires you or that's near and dear to your heart would be just as lovely in your home, don't you?

Thank you for visiting with me today!
I hope you have a beautiful day or night wherever you are in the world.
